ETF names decoded: what each part means

An ETF name looks cryptic, but every part carries information. An example from the ETF list :

One fund name, six pieces of information: (1) provider, (2) product line, (3) index tracked, (4) EU framework for retail funds, (5) fund currency, (6) use of income, here accumulating.

iShares Core MSCI World UCITS ETF USD (Acc)

  • iShares: the provider (BlackRock).

  • (Acc): accumulating; (Dist) would mean distributing. See distributing vs accumulating .
