S&P 500 Equal Weight Index

The index holds the same roughly 500 companies as the S&P 500 but gives each the same share of about 0.2% at its quarterly rebalance. The largest companies therefore weigh far less than in the market-value-weighted S&P 500, while smaller stocks and sectors such as industrials or utilities weigh much more. Between rebalances, price moves shift the weights again.

The ten largest holdings make up 2.7% of the S&P 500 Equal Weight, out of 503 holdings in total; the largest sector is Industrials at 16.5% (as of Oct 9, 2026).
